Public speaking and intrapersonal communication skills are vital for most professions. Especially for careers where you have to constantly interact with other people, professional communication skills are important if you want to succeed.
Since the Business Symposium is this week, we have been practicing our interviewing skills in ISM. While we only practiced among our classmates, it was very informative to learn how interviews function, both from the perspective of the interviewee and interviewer. I have been able to take my professional communication skills to a higher level and hope that it will be reflected in my interactions this week. In addition, I am excited to learn more about the Independent Study and Mentorship Program from ISM 2 students and alumni. I hope to gain more knowledge and wisdom from professionals in the field of sports medicine and orthopedic surgery while I am at the symposium.
As I continue my journey in the ISM program, I will hopefully continue to hone my communication skills until they become the best that they can be. I plan to perfect my elevator speech and to keep working on my public speaking skills. I look forward to the symposium and all of the new knowledge I will gain.
