It can be nerve racking to talk to multiple strangers during an event. However, during Frisco ISD’s annual ISM research showcase last week, all of the students in the program were given the opportunity to share all of their research with other people. Including other families, fellow students, and possibly even other people’s mentors, the showcase was a good place to reflect on how far all of the ISM students have come this year.
During the showcase itself, I was able to meet a variety of people who were interested in learning about my research. In addition, I was also given the opportunity to explore some of the topics and content that the ISM students from other Frisco ISD schools had chosen to study this year. It was really interesting to see the variety of topics, ranging everywhere from zoology to photography. I really enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to see how it is next year as I continue my ISM journey into ISM 2.
Now that the showcase is over though, it is now time to begin cracking down on my final product. There are only a handful of weeks left before our final presentation night, and I need to finish my final product before then. With the help of Dr. Wilson, I am excited to learn more about a career in orthopedic surgery and implement my learnings into my final product.
