If you’ve read some of my other blogs, you know that I am a firm believer that not everything always goes to plan. There will pretty much always be obstacles that get in the way of achieving a goal, regardless of how well-organized or thought-out your plan is, and it could come in any size, shape or form. However, it is more important to be willing to adapt and change your plans when things go awry so you can continue to move forward.
Now, I know that my advice is pretty stereotypical and you’ve probably heard of it before, but I needed to keep it in mind when I last visited my mentor and as I’ve continued to work on my final product. You see, I was unable to observe any patient testing during my last mentor visit because the intended patient did not show up. Although it was slightly disappointing, I was able to use some of the time that was originally dedicated for a mentor meeting towards working on my final product. By focusing on my final product, I was still able to be productive with my time over the spring break.
Since I’m now in the final stretch, with my Final Presentation Night less than a month away, it is vital that I remember that not everything goes to plan and keep my head up so I can finish strong!
